Sid & Diya – Rooftop proposal at sunset overlooking Rome

Most of my clients plan a surprise proposal to their girlfriends during their trip to Italy. They often include different cities in their itinerary. The most popular destinations are Amalfi Coast, Cinque Terre, Venice, Florence and undoubtedly Rome.

When Sid contacted me, he was hoping to get help in planning his proposal in Italy – ideally, on a spot with less tourists. At the beginning he was open to do this in Florence, Amalfi coast or in Rome. Plus, he needed help with a photographer who could secretly take pictures.

After a few suggestions, Sid opted for a private rooftop overlooking Rome. I must say, his decision was perfect as we were able to surprise his beloved Diya completely. To make the proposal personalized, Sid wanted me to decorate the terrace with some photos, put them on easels and include a violinist for a special touch playing their favorite song.

… and here we are. Ready to welcome Sid & Diya.

On the day of the proposal, Sid was supposed to invite Diya for an aperitif before going for dinner. In this way, Diya had no idea that he secretly planned the proposal.

When they arrived at the location, Sid got on the proposal spot first and a few minutes after, Diya reached him. Little did she know that he would be standing there with a big surprise.

Sid, had a short speech before he got down on one knee, expressing his deep love to Diya …

… and then it happened. Sid popped the question and Diya said YES!

Diya was absolutely happy when she realized that we printed her drawing on canvas and put that all-important-question around it. The drawing was meaningful for them as it was actually the place where they met for the first time.

It didn’t finish here! Diya was hiding a small surprise for Sid in her handbag, too. She also had a ring for him!

What a perfect proposal!

Congratulations to a newly-engaged couple! I wish you the happiest future together.

Being on the rooftop before sunset was very romantic and we stayed there for a few more minutes before we got into streets for an extra photo shoot.

Good job, guys!

… we kept smiling also in the streets of Rome …

And finally, we arrived at the restaurant where the newly-engaged couple could enjoy the rest of the evening on their own.
