Andrew & Bridget - Explosion box proposal in Villa Borghese, Rome

New Yorkers coming to Italy!

Proposing abroad is not always that easy. Firstly – you don’t speak the language, secondly – you don’t know who to trust. And this was also the reason why Andrew got in touch with me. He had some initial ideas of how to surprise his girlfriend Bridget in Rome but needed someone professional who could take care of it and bring it to life.

I presented four options to Andrew and he reviewed it several times in order to pick the one that could suit his relationship with Bridget. He opted for a proposal on a small boat in Villa Borghese park as he prefered a romantic, intimate and more private nature of the park compared to the busy hustle and bustle of Trevi Fountain. Andrew wanted to be able to really be “with” Bridget, enjoy the park and its views and be able to have her really hear the words he says to her upon proposing.

Once the proposal spot was chosen, we had to decide on how to surprise Bridget on the boat and at the same time, keep the whole atmosphere very natural. Our plan was pretty easy to follow but before we had to create the ‘wow factor’. Andrew liked the idea of incorporating an explosion box into the proposal. I contacted my dear colleague who created not only romantic but also a personalized explosion box with a surprising effect. And this is how it looked liked:

On the day of the proposal Andrew followed the plan I sent him and brought Bridget to the lake of Villa Borghese. They hired a boat and jumped in to experience something new and funny. Bridget still didn’t have any idea of what was about to happen.
