Public marriage proposals are part of a growing trend away from traditional intimate proposals. Nowadays, guys look for something out of the ordinary and unique. This is also the reason why destination marriage proposals have become very popular.
Rome’s Trevi Fountain is well known for romance and only those with great courage can propose by this fountain. Why? Have a look at the below picture and see how crowded it is normally. I strongly believe it needs courage, bravery and adventuresomeness to propose in such a place. On the other hand it’s also a strategic place as she has no expectations to be proposed among the crowd, is it? Look at Sonya, she is taking some lovely pictures of the Fountain and she has no idea she was about to be proposed by Luis heading to the proposal spot, closer to fountain.
When they reached the fountain, I rolled down the banner saying ‘Will you marry me?‘, Luis got down on one knee and asked the big question. In the big confusion, Sonya remained shocked and couldn’t believe her eyes.
You may not know but Sonya is Irish and Luis couldn’t choose a better day to propose then at St. Patrick’s Day. After the proposal, we did some extra photo shooting while strolling in Rome, drinking a pint of Guinness beer in an Irish pub, visiting Pantheon in the evening and getting to a romantic restaurant Casa Coppelle to celebrate the engagement.
