Renewal of vows

Yule & Laura – Romantic renewal of vows in Puglia

This summer I had a pleasure to experience something totally new – Renewal of Vows. It was a magnificent moment which I shared with a same-sex couple, Yule and Laura in beautiful Puglia.

PuWhen I was contacted by Yule, she told me that she wanted to surprise her partner Laura during their summer trip to Italy. They were married for 7 years and so she wanted to be albe to create something special for her.

To turn her dream into reality I asked her a few questions about their relationship. I found out that they both enjoyed exploring new places, traveling and playing instruments or listening to instrumental / acoustic music. I was also told that they would be visiting several Southern Italy regions. One of them was Puglia and I knew it would be a perfect place for such a meaningful occasion. Puglia is a place where you can enjoy the peace and tranquillity and it’s well known for its stunning beaches or ‘trulli‘ – those beautiful iconic cone-shaped houses with popular ancient origins.

Giving that there is no standard protocol for planning a vow renewal ceremony, we were free to choose the location, timing and include any kind of music in the ceremony we wanted. After exchanging some emails with Yule, we come into conclusion:

The ceremony took place on the roof of trulli in a very intimate atmosphere. I took care of the decoration and I was also acting as an officiant who was supposed to welcome the couple.

During the ceremony we had Luka, a great handpan player warming up the atmosphere. He was just awesome!

When the ladies arrived at the masseria, I welcomed them and guided them up to the roof. To start the ceremony, I said a few words and then Yule read her speech while Luka was playing his music on the handpan. I had never seen something so romantic before.

Giving that Laura knew that Yule prepared something special for her, she also had her speech to read to Yule.

After the speech, Yule had an extra surprise for Laura – 2 upgraded wedding rings. They had a special meaning.

When the sun went down, we all enjoyed playing the handpan and had some nice time together.

I think I will never forget this experience, not only because it was my first time to assist the vow renewal but also because it filled my heart with peace, love and happiness.

Do you also have any special occasion coming up? Not sure how and where to surprise your partner? Contact me today and I’ll be happy to send you different ideas and places on how to make that day memorable.
