Finding creative marriage proposal ideas is tough but what if you want to be also original with your engagement ring? Remember that each proposal can be unique if all details are unique and corresponds with your relationship. You definitely want to do everything in order to make her surprised and you want her to appreciate your planning. Sometimes it’s enough to think of something meaningful – a place you met for the first time, the restaurant you went for dinner on your first date or it could be also an item that reminds you of something important in your relation.

Toby, a young guy from New Zealand contacted me because he wanted to prepare a private and classy proposal to his lovely girlfriend Emma. He wanted an amazing scenery or place that will always be remembered with a touch of romance and a surprise. Nothing too cliché.

What Toby was truly looking for was a moment to take Emma’s breath away – a private location she could step out into and be amazed. His idea was doing something like:

They go out for the early evening in nice light/sunsetting
Take Emma aside while Toby goes to the proposal spot that is somewhere with an incredible view or backdrop
Emma lead out to the spot as he is waiting there
Celebrate with a glass of champagne

… and I believe, we literally made it! We found a location with a private terrace overlooking Colosseum and 360° view of the Eternal City. What else?

Toby was proposing with a ring that was special to them – not a proper engagement ring. It was a lolly pop made into a ring – something very meaningful for both of them.
