There is nothing more romantic than expressing your love to your partner in the Juliet’s house. Despite the fact you cannot avoid throngs of tourists entering the house, especially the balcony, you can still find a moment to make it memorable. Imagine yourself in the courtyard, down on one knee awaiting for your girlfriend stepping out onto balcony, popping the question among the tourists. Here, forget about the tragic ending. I guarantee she will say YES.
On the boat – Portofino

I always say – unique moments deserve unique locations! … and Portofino, the little harbor with its sparkling Ligurian sea is arguably the most glamorous coastal resort in Italy. In Rome, there are million spots for the perfect marriage proposal, but this time, I went for the Villa Borghese lake. It’s located in the Villa Borghese park. The lake is quite small but ideal for the romance. My suggestion is to visit the Borghese Gallery first and then walk towards the lake where you can rent a little boat and go for a romantic row. Then you’ll have 20 minutes to make these moments unforgettable. And what next? Stop by the Caffeteria Casina del Lago for a glass of sparkling wine to celebrate your love.
On the boat – Ponza

If you think your love deserves destination off the beaten path for the time of your lifetime than go for Ponza. This small island is a hidden jewel in the Mediterranean sea, and so close to Rome. July and August is highly frequented by Romans and Neapolitans coming in by ferry. You’ll hardly find tourists here such as you may find in Capri or Ischia. My personal choice for a romantic proposal is by exploring the island on the boat. High white cliffs, stunning secluded coves surrounded by crystal clear water will certainly design a magic atmosphere and unique emotion. To make this day even more special, take an aperitif at one of the local bars enjoying the breathtaking sunset on the Island of Palmarola.
Punta San Vigilio – Lago di Garda
