Top 5: the most romantic places to propose in Rome

Summer is just round the corner and you are planning a romantic getaway to Rome. You would like to make this trip magical and pop that big question in a special way. But you are not sure of where! Perhaps, you look for an outdoor but not too touristy spots? Well, I’m here to help you so look at my suggestions and pick the location that would match your girlfriend’s personality. Here they are:

FOUNTAIN

Fontanone

The Acqua Paola Fountain is not marked on the top places list to visit in Rome and therefore less touristy. This massive fountain was featured in the well-know Italian film – The Great Beauty and therefore it has become kind of popular. You will never find it overcrowded as the famous Trevi Fountain and so I consider this spot just perfect for a romantic proposal. Right in front of the fountain you may admire Rome’s panorama as this fountain is located on one of the Roman’s hills – Janiculum Hill.

TIP: Reach this spot on a vintage Vespa scooter and propose in a Roman way.

TERRACE

Les Etoiles Rome

Rome can be proud of the breathtaking views from different points of the city. There are so many terraces and roof gardens that I find just hard to opt for the best one. I think, I could be here and write about my top 20 terraces for a romantic proposal … lol … Well, I had to pick only the one – Les Etoiles roof garden. It’s located just a 10 minute walk from the Vatican and has this stunning view of St. Peter’s Square. I personally enjoy the view also during the day even if the ideal time for the proposal would be at sunset.

TIP: Book the best table in advance (to ensure the best view) and invite your beloved one for aperitif. Don’t forget to hire a photographer to capture those once-in-a-lifetime moments.

GARDEN
Orange Garden wedding proposal

Ohhh, the Orange Garden is absolutely one of the most romantic gardens in Rome. And not only … There’s also a little terrace overlooking the Tiber River. The most magical moment is perhaps when watching the sun set over St. Peter’s Dome. Some people come here for a romantic strolling or just to relax. Getting here is easy. What else to enjoy here? Only a 2 minute walk from the garden, there is a piazza called Piazza dei Cavalieri di Malta where you must stop and see the view from the key hole in the gate.

TIP: Reach the famous key hole. Have her to look through the hole, get down on one knee and go for it!

VILLA

Villa Rosantica

Ok, I admit there are so many villas in Rome where you can go and make your proposal magical but there are not many with no tourists at all. If you want your engagement to be in a total privacy and exclusivity than you would have to contact me for more details to get the door open to this stunning Roman Villa on the Appian Way.

TIP: Stay in this villa for one night and tell her how much you love her with firework.

PARK

Picnic proposal Villa Borghese

Villa Borghese is highly frequented park in Rome but you can still find peaceful spots for an intimate marriage proposal. It’s a large park and offers various places and ideas for a memorable engagement. There’s a famous Borghese Gallery that you can visit before your romantic strolling in the garden or you may simply walk towards the cute little lake and have fun rowing a small boat.

TIP: Grab some snack, a light blanket, a bottle of fresh prosecco and set up for a romantic picnic proposal.
