Sumeet, this young Canadian guy decided to prepare a special proposal in Rome to his lovely girlfriend Diya. After a 9 year relationship, Sumeet decided to take a very important step and pop the big question. They had never traveled on a vacation together outside of Canada and therefore Sumeet wanted to make this trip even more special.
So here is the story and how it all happened:
Diya was told to pack her staff for vacation. Little did she know that she would fly all the way from Toronto to Rome for a trip of a lifetime. And so at the airport there was the first surprise to Diya. Oh, she must have been so excited when she noticed where she was about to fly …
Sumeet had prepared a nice itinerary in order to discover Rome and its surroundings with his beloved Diya. They spent first days in Rome strolling around and visiting some monuments and one day he dedicated to a surprise proposal on the lake of Villa Borghese. Sumeet chose the lake as his dream proposal was to be somewhere historical but quiet, on a body of water and on a small boat.
Proposal planning was as follows:
- they walk to Villa Borghese until they reach the lake
- jump in the boat and row
- row around till they stop in front of the Temple of Aesculapius
- musicians around to play the favorite song – Wonderwall by Oasis – which had a very special meaning for them
- as the song is playing – proposing on one knee
- celebrating the engagement on the land and taking some extra pictures with a glass of fresh champagne
On the day of the proposal, everything was ready: engagement ring hidden under the boat seat, musicians (singer and guitarist), photographer, video operator and two glasses with a bottle of champagne 😉
And here they are! Sumeet and Diya arrived as any other customers to hire a boat and row around the lake.
What Diya didn’t know was that something truly special was about to happen!
… and the moments of happiness were shared via Skype call with their family and friends.
When you realize you want to spend the rest of your life with somebody, you want the rest of your life to start as soon as possible.
