Dante & Mary – Marriage proposal on the Appian Way, Rome

It always feels good to read feedbacks from my clients so let’s see what Dante wrote after his engagement on the Appian Way:

Martina and her team were an amazing help and took all of the guesswork out of planning the perfect proposal. I was understandably nervous to pop the question and trying to plan everything in a country I’d never been to only added to my anxiety. But, Martina’s great ideas, professionalism, and organization in the planning process put me at ease before we ever touched down in Italy. The day itself went better than I could have imagined and I am so glad we have the amazing pictures to always remember such an incredible day. They really exceeded my expectations–can’t thank them enough!

If you are curious to know what Dante and I prepared for Mary, keep reading below:

Dante’s first message to me was very clear: he wanted to plan a marriage proposal in Rome, somewhere not too crowded and make it a bit adventurous. Well, as you can imagine, Rome is a pretty busy city and you have to know where are great spots for an outdoor but quiet and romantic proposal. And so my first task was to suggest some ideas that could match their relationship. Once Dante chose the idea he liked the best, he also asked me for a photographer to capture those unique moments even if they were not huge fans of taking photos.

Dante decided for the vintage car tour in order to visit unusual places in Rome and especially to reach the Appian Way comfortably. Appian Way was actually the proposal spot but before getting there we picked up Dante and Mary by the Colosseo and started taking some pictures to remember this ‘big’ day without any suspicious. Obviously, Mary had no idea we planned this tour because of the proposal. On our way to Appia, we stopped in Testaccio to try a delicious panino then we moved to Orange Garden and the famous Secret Key Hole.

… and when we reached the Appian Way, the level of tension increased a little bit. To spice the proposal up, Dante and I thought to surprise Mary in a funny way. We asked a professional caricaturist to draw Dante on one knee holding the engagement ring and Mary next to him. We added an imagine of their lovely dog who unfortunately cannot be there that day and the Appian Way background. Just perfect to recall the atmosphere they were in the moment of the proposal.

After a short walk we stopped at one place where I asked Mary to see how long is Appia through the binoculars. This was the moment we kept Mary busy and Dante had time to get the ring out of the pocket and hold the drawing. When Mary turned around she found Dante holding the drawing. Dante got down on one knee and proposed.

Mary said ‘YES’!
